Make a Difference!
Pat Peachey credits much of the knowledge that she gained through Construction Industry Technician (CIT) course and other educational programs offered by the NAWIC Education Foundation (NEF) as the reason she was promoted from receptionist to contracts administrator.
"As a result, I have become the 'go to' person at my company for contract review," she said.
One of the things that Peachey would point out to people who are considering taking the CIT course is that it is full of information that a student may not know.

"As a new graduate with an accounting degree, my firm enrolled me in NEF's Construction Industry Technician certification program. I found that this course provided me with a broad understanding of the construction industry which helped me greatly in understanding and relating to the work environment of our constructin clients."

2012 NEF Mixer Follow up:
NAWIC Education Foundation
Expresses Gratitude
NEF was busy during the recent NAWIC Annual Meeting and Educational Conference held in Denver, Colorado. Many attendees took advantage of the adult education course books and construction dictionaries that were on sale. Raffle tickets for cash prizes, donated items, and a treasure chest of goodies were hot items too.
Ladder Club contributions were numerous - close to $25,000 was raised in the mile high city which will help continue the K-12 and adult education programs of NEF.
The successful fundraising efforts were made possible by the many generous members, chapters and companies that donated items and contributed monetarily to the social mixer event. Thank you!
The attendees at the AM&EC opened their wallets and helped make the NEF fundraising year quite successful. Thank you! All of your efforts are certainly appreciated!
As we start a new year, please remember to keep NEF in your plans. Have a chapter fundraiser or gather loose change at your meetings and budget for the chapter's ladder club contribution.
With gratitude,
Pat Walker, NEF President 2011-2012
Frances Jackson, NEF Mixer Chair 2012
Christine Parsons, NEF Fundraising Chair 2011-2012
